Continuing education in civil engineering

Online continuing education in civil engineering for all disciplines (geotechnics, structures, hydraulics, materials, roads, environment, building and geology) are available. All GeoExpert courses allow you to obtain your Continuing Education Hours; useful for those who need to accumulate and submit their Hours as required by orders such as the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ), the Orof the Architects of Quebec (OAQ) and the Order of Geologists of Quebec (OQG).

The trainings are given following individual or group reservations (see the list complete).

For companies wishing to enroll more than 4 people in a course, a discount is available, just call us or send an email with all the details (course name, number of participants and planned date).

Description : 

Policy on the evaluation of learning and certificates :

  1. Currently, all training are given online with simple means of communication and in our daily lives (Zoom and Teams)

  2. Learning assessments contain:

    • Simple applications to know if the participant has grasped the given notions;

    • Real projects (where the trainer was involved in the design/validation) to stimulate interest and improve the retention of the information transmitted;

    • Questions/discussions to ensure that the participant has found answers to their concerns and also learned the right approach for their future design projects. There is no passing grade. But, we must make sure that each participant is satisfied and has found all the answers to his questions;

    • A certificate of participation is granted once the participant has attended all the training and has been satisfied (according to his satisfaction form).

GeoExpert is a member of the Society for Training and Continuing Education (SOFEDUC). Thus, the activities and training of GeoExpert are eligible for obtaining continuing education units (CEU) by most associations and professional orders in the industry and allow you to accumulate hours in continuing education insofar as their content is related to your professional activities. A certificate, in accordance with the requirements of associations and professional orders, is given to all participants who have taken training with GeoExpert. All GeoExpert trainers are engineers who are members of the Order of Engineers of Quebec.

Q1: In which languages are the trainings offered ?

All training courses displayed are given inFrench. However, training for companies can be given in English.

Q2: How to register for a training ?

Directly on the page of the training you wish to follow or by clicking on the button TO BOOK  from the course description page.

Q3: What is the deadline for registering for training ?

Registration can be done one day before the start of the training. After this time, please contact us at info@geoexpert-qc.com or at 514 900-0126. As places are limited, we invite you to register as soon as possible.
 

Q4: Will I receive a confirmation when I make my reservation ?

Yes. All lesson reservations will be confirmed by email. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please contact us at info@geoexpert-qc.com

Q5: What is the platform used for your distance learning ?

Currently, all training sessions on our calendar are broadcast on "Zoom". However, in-company training can be broadcast on “Teams”

Q6: What should I do if I have a technical problem during my remote training ?

For any technical problem during your training, please write to us at info@geoexpert-qc.com  specifying in the subject: Technical problem. Then describe the problem in the email and a member of the team will make sure to answer you quickly.

Q7: Do you provide training for businesses ?

Yes, all training can be given in companies or for private groups. It is also possible to prepare them to measure to meet the some special needs. The trainings can be given in the company or the chosen organization, online or in the premises of the company.

Q8: Can my employer pay for my training ?

Yes. When registering online, it is possible to enter the information of your employer's billing contact in the "Payment method" section. However, if the method of payment does not suit your employer, we can proceed to register you manually and send an invoice to your employer.

Q9: What is the deadline for paying my invoice ?

The costs of yourreservation  must be paid in full before the start of the training. GST and QST are in addition to the prices indicated on our site.

Q10: Do you offer a certificate at the end of the training ?

Yes. All participants will receive a certificate of participation by email in the week following the training day, including their name as well as the title, duration, date, name of instructor and a description of the training .

Q11 : What are your payment options ?

Generally for online payment, you can pay with a credit card or PayPal. Alternatively, the invoice can be paid by check or bank transfer. GST and QST are in addition to the prices indicated on our site.

Q12: Is it possible to cancel or postpone a reservation ?

Yes, provided that the request is made before 7 days of the start of the training and before the reception of your course documentation. For more details see our page "Terms usage"
